Manchester United winger Anthony Martial has rejected the clubs latest contract offer as questions still remain over his Old Trafford future.
The Frenchman hasn’t had the best of times at Manchester United but has at time shown signs of kicking on with his career.
One of those performances came against Chelsea last weekend as the Frenchman scored two goals at Stamford Bridge.
That followed on from his goal against Newcastle at Old Trafford which helped inspire his side to an incredible win.
Though, he’s also reportedly had his problems with Jose Mourinho since joining the club.
Martial admitted back in 2017 that he and Mourinho have a ‘hard’ relationship but it benefitted him.
There were reports suggesting otherwise in the summer, however.
They suggested that Jose Mourinho and Anthony Martial were actually at war.
If they were, they certainly aren’t now but his future still remains uncertain.
Can a deal be reached?
That is because Sky Sports News have revealed this evening that the Frenchman has rejected Manchester United’s latest contract offer.
Martial’s contract is set to expire next summer and he has been linked with a move away.
Manchester United do have the option to extend that by an extra year, however.
Even still, the player is yet to sign a new deal and this rejection will do little to give them confidence over an agreement.
