Ronaldo posts classy message to Sir Alex, United fans

Cristiano Ronaldo posted two messages on Instagram following Juventus’ 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

The Serie A side produced a dominant performance against the Red Devils despite United improving in the second half with Paul Pogba hitting the post.

Sir Alex Ferguson made his first visit to Old Trafford at the end of last month following his recovery from brain surgery.

And Ronaldo managed to meet up with the Scot following Juventus’ win despite not appearing to be at the match.

“A great coach and above all a wonderful man,”  Ronaldo posted on Instagram with a picture of the pair. “Taught me so many things inside and outside the pitch. Great to see you in good shape, Boss!”

In the build-up to the match, Ronaldo remembered his time at the club and especially Ferguson’s contribution to his development.

“I won lots of trophies here, cups, league, Champions League,” Ronaldo said. “I remember the support as well. The support is fantastic.”

“Sir Alex Ferguson is someone I will never ever forget and I would like to express my best possible wishes to him.”

Meanwhile, in a separate post, he praised the reception he received from the United supporters.

“An important victory in a very emotional match for me,” Ronaldo said on Instagram. “It was great playing at Old Trafford again. Thanks to all the fans for the reception and support.”

Ronaldo scores as easily as he drinks water, says Paul Pogba
